About me
My name is Ioana Dascălu and I have been painting since I was a child – color has always been my natural way of expressing myself. At the age of 12 I became a member of the Association of Fine Artists in Bucharest, and since then I have participated in numerous exhibitions in Romania, alongside established artists.
Since my adolescence, I knew that my path was connected to art and transformation.
I continued to develop this passion through study and introspection and graduated with a master's degree in Art & Culture Management at Rome Business School, which helped me understand not only the creative side, but also the role of art in society.
I paint contemporary art, mainly original oil paintings on canvas, inspired by nature, archetypes, symbols and inner processes of transformation. Sometimes they are symbolic portraits, sometimes abstract compositions full of textures and energy – all starting from an authentic emotional state.
For me, each painting is a story, an energy, a space that the viewer can find themselves in. I want my works to not just be decorative objects, but bridges to the interior, to peace, courage or inspiration.
